An Unexpected Love

Sometimes love comes when you least expect it.

An Unexpected Love

Alex doesn’t want anything to do with the crazy Mormon religion her sister belongs to— especially since it’s the same religion she blames for her father’s death.  When she comes to visit Jamie and her husband, Steve, she warns them not to even talk about religion.  But she doesn’t count on meeting the most attractive man she’s ever met— Steve’s business partner and best friend, Rich.

Alex McCarty never planned on falling in love with a Mormon, even if he does appear to be everything she ever wanted in a man.  But Alex isn’t about to join his church to be with him, and she knows Rich would never leave his church for her.

An Unexpected Love. . . where a little romance means big surprises!

Author’s Notes:

Writing, An Unexpected Love, was a challenge for me.  It took four years to get it right.  Once, Alex, the main character in the book finally became real to me, and I discovered she had a very important message for others, the story fell into place.  Her story is one of faith, of overcoming physical and spiritual challenges.  She ultimately learns that placing her faith in the Lord gives her the strength and power she needs to make changes in her life.

Alex is dealing with anorexia, a problem she’s faced since she was a teenager.  She finally reaches a point where she knows if she doesn’t get help, she could get seriously sick or even die.  Since a loved one in my family struggled with anorexia, I have seen how destructive this disease can be.  Alex’s message is one of helping people to open their eyes, whether they themselves struggle with an eating disorder, or if someone they know is struggling.  It’s also one of hope.  With the help of a loving Heavenly Father and the support of family and friends, not only eating disorders but any challenge we face in life can be overcome.
